At Devon Sailing Experiences, we believe that along with the west coast of Scotland, the South West coast is one of the most beautiful cruising grounds in the UK, with idyllic harbours, historic ports, stylish locations and a city all within easy reach.
Dartmouth – An historic Elizabethan port and home to Britannia Royal Naval College where the Queen met her husband. Plenty to see and do.
Salcombe – A beautiful location with beaches on the East Portlemouth side. Pubs and restaurants in spades. The place to be during the summer months.
Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers – Tucked away in the river Yealm you will find Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo. These idyllic villages are unspoilt and amongst the most attractive anywhere in the UK.
Plymouth – Historic port and the only city we visit. A lively place with lots of bars and attractions.
Cawsands – This quaint, historical fishing village with winding streets and picture postcard cottages comes alive at night in the handful of turn-of-the-century pubs and inns.
Fowey – A favourite our ours, with records dating back to the 11th century. Take a look at a youtube video.
Falmouth – A large, pretty town with beaches, and dripping in history.
St Mawes – Small but active fishing village located at the end of the Roseland Peninsula.
Mylor – One of the best marina locations on the SW coast; tranquil and within easy reach of the village or Falmouth. Video about Mylor Yacht Harbour.
“I went sailing in the summer for 5 days and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Mick, the skipper, was a great guy; he was really relaxed and knew his stuff. He provided us with advice about the best locations to visit during the week but ultimately it was up to us, and the places we visited didn’t disappoint. Each night he left us on the boat, which was great and we got the boat to ourselves just to chill. Overall, a great weeks sailing and would highly recommend it to anyone.”
