Isles of Scilly Destinations
The usual mooring is at New Grimsby Sound which gives easy access to Tresco, Bryher and the ferry transport to explore the rest of the islands.
Tresco – from dramatic rocky outcrops, bronze age burial sites and romantic castle ruins, to secluded sandy beaches and, of course, the world-famous Tresco Abbey Garden which was established in the 1830s by Augustus Smith. See the video.
Bryher – an island of dramatic contrast, being rocky on one side with beaches on the other. Dinner at the renowned Hell Bay Hotel is a welcome touch of comfort after a long sail.
St Mary’s – the largest island with a population of 1,800. Hugh Town, the capital, has plenty of shops, banks, churches, cafés, galleries, restaurants and pubs as well as the wonderful museum.
