Covid-19 (Coronavirus) updates for Devon Sailing Experiences

Updated 1st November 2021.

Further to the latest UK Government’s Covid-19 update, Devon Sailing Experiences anticipate being able to safely run RYA courses, sailing experiences and bareboat charters as detailed below.

Should additional Government restrictions regarding Covid-19 come into force resulting in us being unable to run your sailing experience or bareboat charter, we will update this page and contact our guests via email.

If your sailing experience or bareboat charter cannot run due to national or local lockdowns/restrictions, we will offer you 12 months to reschedule your booking. If you are unable to reschedule, we will offer you a refund of the money you have paid to us.

Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover in the case of YOUR cancellation due to personal circumstances (for example, a positive Covid-19 test or your own requirements to self-isolate). Before booking a sailing experience or course, you are welcome to take a look at our latest risk assessment. Please be aware that Devon Sailing Experiences recommend that you take a Covid-19 test before joining the yacht, but is not responsible for checking that all guests have done so.

Day Sailing Experiences

We are currently able to run this sailing experience. Places will be limited to 5 guests plus 1 skipper to allow for social distancing.

Single-day exclusive charters are scheduled on-demand and we are able to run this sailing experience. The maximum number of guests is 5 plus 1 skipper to continue to allow for social distancing.

We are currently able to run multi-day exclusive charters. Please refer to our website for arrangements if you have more than 4 guests. However, be aware that we will need to review local/national guidelines relating to overnight stays at the time of your scheduled booking.

If your Exclusive Charter was postponed in 2020/1 due to Covid-19, just email info@devonsailingexperiences.co.uk requesting a date and quoting your booking number.

Covid-19 Risk Assessments

The Devon Sailing Experiences team has spent some time preparing risk assessments directly relating to Coronavirus. A guide will be sent to you a few days before you join us and your skipper will brief you on the morning you sail. You may request an advance copy at any time by emailing info@devonsailingexperiences.co.uk.

Insurance

We would like to draw your attention to the clauses regarding insurance (paragraph 3) and cancellation (paragraph 5) in our Terms and Conditions which state that DSE is not liable for hotel fees and travel costs incurred with attending a sailing EXPERIENCE, COURSE or BAREBOAT CHARTER. Guests should ensure they have adequate insurance in the case of cancellation due to Covid-19.

Please ensure you have adequate insurance cover in the case of YOUR cancellation due to personal circumstances (for example, a positive Covid-19 test or your own requirements to self-isolate). Before booking a sailing experience or course, you are welcome to take a look at our latest risk assessment. Please be aware that Devon Sailing Experiences recommend that you take a Covid-19 test before joining the yacht, but is not responsible for checking that guests have done so.

If you are travelling from abroad, you have the responsibility to follow UK guidance regarding self-isolation when travelling to and from England. Please ensure you have adequate insurance if we need to cancel your booking due to local UK Government restrictions.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. Please rest assured that we will be continuously monitoring the situation and updating our guests accordingly.

As always, if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you to Devon soon.
