Covid-19 (Coronavirus) updates for Devon Sailing Experiences
Updated 12th August 2020
We are really pleased to announce that we are back on the water!
With Government restrictions starting to be lifted, we are delighted to say that we are able to offer certain sailing experiences which could not take place due to Coronavirus. These are detailed below.
Day Sailing Experiences
From 11th July we re-started our Day Sails and have now added extra dates to our sailing schedule. Places will be limited to 5 guests plus 1 skipper to allow for social distancing.
If your Day Sail was postponed due to Covid-19, there is no rush for you to re-book. You have 12 months to get in touch and book a date. When you are ready to book, just email email@example.com requesting a date and quoting your booking number. If you can’t see a suitable date on our calendar, do get in touch and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
Single-day exclusive charters are scheduled on-demand re-started from 4th July. The maximum number of guests is normally 6, but whilst current Government restrictions are in place, we will temporarily cap the number of guests at 5 to allow for social distancing.
Multi-day exclusive charters can also be booked. To operate safely and within Government guidelines, you must only book with members of your own household or support bubble.
If your exclusive charter was postponed due to Covid-19, there is no rush to re-book. You have 12 months to get in touch and book a date. When you are ready to book, just email firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a date and quoting your booking number.
Weekend Sailing Experiences
At the moment, we are unable to offer weekend sailing experiences due to Government restrictions relating to social distancing, overnight stays and more than 2 households meeting. Therefore, all weekend sailing experiences up until the end of September have been postponed (except where 2 or more cabins will be occupied by the same family) and guests have been notified. We will continue to monitor the situation for bookings after September and update guests accordingly. As soon as the situation changes, we will update this page with further information.
We are awaiting updates from the RYA with regards to running practical courses. Due to Government restrictions relating to overnight stays and more than 2 households meeting, we do not anticipate being able to run courses until the end of September 2020. As soon as we receive confirmation, we will update this page with further information. If you have a booking, we will be in touch and update you personally nearer the date of your course.
We are able to offer bareboat charters where guests are from up to 2 households. If you would like to book, just email email@example.com.
If your bareboat charter was postponed due to Covid-19, there is no rush to rebook a date – you have 12 months to get in touch and book.
Covid-19 Risk Assessments
The Devon Sailing Experiences team has spent some time preparing risk assessments directly relating to Coronavirus. A guide will be sent to you before you join us and your skipper will brief you on the morning you sail.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding over the last few months.
As always, if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Looking forward to welcoming you to Devon soon.
